The Federation of Mediterranean Certified Accountants (FCM) organized yesterday - May 27, 2024 - in collaboration with Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (OCC), the conference "The Mediterranean ESG Framework" at the Domingues de Azevedo Auditorium, in Lisbon.
With a panel of renowned national and international experts, the event focused on the importance of ESG (environmental, social, and governance) factors for companies in the Mediterranean region.
Paula Franco (OCC President), Nelson Ferreira (FCM President), and Francisco Sant’anna (IFAC Board member) opened the conference.
Felipe Pathé Duarte (Assistant Professor/Researcher at NOVA School of Law), António Baldaque da Silva (Executive Dir. of the Center for Sustainable Finance at Católica Lisbon School of Economics and Business), Philippe Arraou (Honorary President of the Senior Council of the Order of Chartered Accountants) and Mafalda Gomes (Union for the Mediterranean Diplomat) led the theme "The Region".
Gabriela Figueiredo Dias (IESBA President), Carlos Menezes (OCC representative in CNC) and Salvador Marin (President of the European Federation of Accountants and Auditors for SMES) addressed "The Integrated Report".
Mário Freire (OROC board member & KPMG partner) and Panagiotis Alamanos (member of the IFAC PAO Development & Advisory Group)) discussed the "Less Complex Audit" theme.
